No contact day 29: the day before
The day before a milestone tends to be busier in the head than the milestone itself. Anticipation gets loud in both directions — pride and doubt at once.
What goes wrong on day 29
Pre-celebrating and pre-mourning both point at the same behaviour: doing something to mark it, which usually means involving them.
None of that is a prediction about you specifically. Day 29 looks different depending on how long you were together, who ended it, and how many times you've tried before — this is the shape it takes most often, and the part of it worth preparing for.
One thing to do today
Decide what day 30 is actually for — an ending, a renewal, or nothing in particular. Deciding today means tomorrow can't decide for you.
A slip costs a day. The spiral after it — "I've ruined it, why bother" — is what costs the month. If today didn't go the way this page describes, that's information about which door is still open, not a verdict on whether you can do this.
