No contact day 14: two weeks
Two weeks is where most people can first look back and see a difference — not in how much it hurts, but in how often. The bad hours are fewer even when they're no less bad.
What goes wrong on day 14
The comparison to make is week 1 versus week 2, and the comparison people actually make is today versus the best day of the relationship.
None of that is a prediction about you specifically. Day 14 looks different depending on how long you were together, who ended it, and how many times you've tried before — this is the shape it takes most often, and the part of it worth preparing for.
One thing to do today
Do the honest audit: how many hours today were fine, versus day 3? That number, not your mood right now, is the measurement that matters — and it's the one your mind will not volunteer.
A slip costs a day. The spiral after it — "I've ruined it, why bother" — is what costs the month. If today didn't go the way this page describes, that's information about which door is still open, not a verdict on whether you can do this.
