No contact day 12: the false calm
Somewhere in the middle of week two it gets easier, and the ease is the trap. Calm arrives, and calm reads as finished.
What goes wrong on day 12
The guard comes down exactly when the guard was working. This is the most common day for a slip that seems to come out of nowhere.
None of that is a prediction about you specifically. Day 12 looks different depending on how long you were together, who ended it, and how many times you've tried before — this is the shape it takes most often, and the part of it worth preparing for.
One thing to do today
Treat the calm as weather, not a verdict. Change nothing about your setup today — don't unmute, don't unarchive, don't 'test' whether you're over it. There is no version of that test that returns useful information.
A slip costs a day. The spiral after it — "I've ruined it, why bother" — is what costs the month. If today didn't go the way this page describes, that's information about which door is still open, not a verdict on whether you can do this.
