No contact day 7: one week, banked
A week. It probably doesn't feel like an achievement, and the absence of fanfare surprises people — you expected day 7 to feel like something, and mostly it feels like Tuesday.
What goes wrong on day 7
Day 7 is a classic slip day for exactly that reason: the milestone arrives, the feeling doesn't, and the mind offers a reward for good behaviour in the form of one small check.
None of that is a prediction about you specifically. Day 7 looks different depending on how long you were together, who ended it, and how many times you've tried before — this is the shape it takes most often, and the part of it worth preparing for.
One thing to do today
Count it deliberately. Seven days is seven days of the loop not being fed, which is real whether or not it feels ceremonial. And take the check off the table today specifically — the reward for a week of not looking is not a look.
A slip costs a day. The spiral after it — "I've ruined it, why bother" — is what costs the month. If today didn't go the way this page describes, that's information about which door is still open, not a verdict on whether you can do this.
