No contact day 20: the routine forms
By day 20 the days have a shape that isn't organised around them. It's usually invisible from the inside — you notice it only when something disrupts it.
What goes wrong on day 20
This is when people declare themselves done and reopen the channels. The routine is new; it does not yet survive contact.
None of that is a prediction about you specifically. Day 20 looks different depending on how long you were together, who ended it, and how many times you've tried before — this is the shape it takes most often, and the part of it worth preparing for.
One thing to do today
Keep the setup exactly as it is for another ten days. Nothing about a three-week-old routine needs testing, and the cost of a failed test here is disproportionate.
A slip costs a day. The spiral after it — "I've ruined it, why bother" — is what costs the month. If today didn't go the way this page describes, that's information about which door is still open, not a verdict on whether you can do this.
