No contact day 24: the slip that didn't happen
By this point you've probably had at least one urge you didn't act on and barely noticed passing. That's the mechanism working, and it happens quietly enough to miss.
What goes wrong on day 24
Unnoticed wins don't build confidence, so people go into week four believing they're one bad night from zero.
None of that is a prediction about you specifically. Day 24 looks different depending on how long you were together, who ended it, and how many times you've tried before — this is the shape it takes most often, and the part of it worth preparing for.
One thing to do today
Recall the last urge you didn't act on and count it deliberately. Evidence that you can not-send is the only thing that makes the next not-sending easier.
A slip costs a day. The spiral after it — "I've ruined it, why bother" — is what costs the month. If today didn't go the way this page describes, that's information about which door is still open, not a verdict on whether you can do this.
