About No Contact

A breakup-recovery tool built by a small team in the UK, for the part of a breakup nobody else shows up for: the hour at night when your thumb is already on their name.

What it is

No Contact is an iPhone app and a website. The app counts the days since you last reached out, reads back the pattern in your own answers, and gives you something to do in the loud hour — an SOS session, a wind-down for the night, a coach to talk it through with. The website carries the guides on this site and a two-minute read you can take without installing anything.

The whole thing is built around one belief: reaching out after a breakup is a habit loop, and habit loops are beaten with structure, not willpower. So everything here is about the specific hour, the specific open door, the specific text you were about to send.

What it isn't

It is not therapy, counselling, or medical advice, and it says so in the app. If you are not functioning after several weeks, if you're drinking to get through the nights, or if you're having thoughts of harming yourself, please talk to a doctor or a crisis line — the app will tell you the same thing and step aside.

It also makes no promises about your ex. Nothing on this site claims that no contact brings anyone back, and nothing in the app is designed to make someone miss you. The person it works on is you.

How the guides are written

Every guide is written for the moment you're actually in, checked against the same rules the app follows: no outcome promises, no invented statistics, nothing that shames a slip. Where a guide gives a number — thirty days, a week — it says why, and when the number doesn't apply. The guides are reviewed before they ship and revised when readers tell us something is wrong; the date at the top of each one is real.

Privacy, plainly

The read on this site stores your answers under a random id so your link keeps working; it never stores anything you typed in free text. In the app, the Memory Vault — the place for the photos you can't delete yet — is locked with Face ID and lives only on your phone. Nothing in it is uploaded anywhere.
